Hi! I’m Sofia Meahl, a Global Teacher with Academica International Studies, and I truly love what I do. Teaching gives me the opportunity not only to help students grow academically, but also to encourage them, get to know who they are, and be someone they feel comfortable turning to throughout the school year.

Outside of the virtual classroom, I’m a wife and a very busy mom to my three children, Hunter, Jackson, and Harper. Much of my time is spent with my family, volunteering, working on crafts and creative projects, and enjoying the everyday adventures that come with raising three kids. Family is a huge part of who I am, and I think being a mom has also shaped the kind of teacher I strive to be—patient, encouraging, understanding, and always willing to listen.

One of my favorite parts of teaching is building genuine relationships with my students. Every student brings their own personality, strengths, goals, and experiences into the classroom, and I love getting to know those individual pieces of who they are. I want my students to know that they have someone in their corner who believes in them and wants to see them succeed.

Whether you have a question about an assignment, need a little extra help, want to talk through a challenge, or simply want to stop by and say hello, my virtual door is always open. I’m excited for another school year filled with learning, growth, connection, and plenty of moments to celebrate along the way!
