Career Research and Decision Making

The purpose of this course is to further develop the career planning competencies mandated by section 1003.4156, Florida Statutes. This course will enable students to make informed career choices and develop the skills needed to successfully plan and apply for college or a job. The content includes, but is not limited to, the following: goal-setting and decision-making processes, self-assessment, sources of career information, occupational fields and educational requirements -postsecondary education and training opportunities -writing, listening, viewing, and speaking skills for applications and interviews, financial planning and sources of educational financial assistance and career planning.
Prerequisites: None. Credits .5
