Rachel Gonzales

Global Teacher

Welcome! My name is Rachel Gonzales, and I am excited to have you as my student this year.  I have been teaching since 2013, and I love what I do. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education in English and Spanish from Western Michigan University. I grew up in rural Michigan, and after university, I spent 10 years living and teaching in Miami, Florida. Now I am back in Michigan living on a homestead with my husband, our young daughter Hazel, and our farm animals.  I enjoy helping students think critically, strengthen their communication skills, and pursue new opportunities.

Outside of teaching, the blessing of motherhood consumes my free time. I enjoy traveling, fitness, soccer, kickball, and pickleball. When I really need some me time, I enjoy a massage or reading a good book. I can’t wait to get to know each of you and share a meaningful and successful year!
