Hello, everyone! My name is Kelly Rodriguez. My husband and I live in Massachusetts, about 40 miles (65 kilometers) west of Boston, and we spend much of our summer in the coastal northwest corner of Galicia, Spain, where my in-laws were born and where we still have family and friends.
I have a Master’s degree in Education, with a concentration in English from Fitchburg State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English Communication from Rivier College. I also have 30 credits beyond my Master’s related to topics in education, including project based learning, language learning and literacy, and technology in education.
Prior to joining the AVE faculty, I taught English Language Arts (grades 6-12) and English as a Second Language. I have mentored teacher candidates, and I have been involved in many extra-curricular activities. Last year, I also taught adults who are beginning to learn English themselves.
I am an avid traveler and a Spanish language learner. I also love outdoor activities, cooking, writing, and spending time with family and friends, especially my niece in Florida.
I am thrilled to be part of this global learning community.
