Carey Gilcher

Global Teacher

Carey Gilcher is a student-centered educator with a passion for exploring language and literature, making connections, and sparking curiosity in her students. An educator since 2002, Carey spent her career teaching English language learners from across Latin America in South Florida. Her experience includes leading STEM education and leading participation in monarch butterfly migration studies. Carey earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and Communications from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY where she was born and raised and holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education in Indianapolis, IN. She holds teaching credentials in both Florida and Maryland.

In her spare time, Carey enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, animal rescue, hiking, reading, and painting. Currently based in the Greater Washington, D.C. area, she is excited to be part of the Acedemica International Studies team and honored to work with students from across the globe.
