Heather Lieberman

Global Teacher

I am excited to be joining Academica International Studies as a Global Teacher. I have spent my career in education in various roles, including classroom teacher, instructional leader, and school administrator. Most recently, I served as an Assistant Principal for eight years, where I supported teachers, students, and families and helped create a positive, engaging school environment.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University in Miami and my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with students and educators across a wide range of grade levels and learning needs, giving me a broad perspective on what helps students feel confident and successful.

At the heart of my approach to education is the belief that strong relationships make a difference. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, encouraged, and genuinely known. I love getting to know my students, finding ways to make learning meaningful, and celebrating their growth along the way. I am especially excited about the opportunity to connect with students from different backgrounds through the virtual classroom and to bring my classroom and leadership experience together in this new role.

Outside of school, I live in Florida with my husband, our two children, and our golden retriever. We are enjoying life on the Gulf Coast and spending as much time together as we can. When I’m not working, you can usually find me cooking, working on projects around our home, planning our next family adventure, or cheering on the Miami Dolphins. I am looking forward to getting to know my students and families and being part of their academic journey!
