Karen Rodriguez

Global Teacher

My name is Karen Rodriguez, and I have been teaching since 2011 with Miami-Dade County Public Schools. During the pandemic (2020–2022), I also had the opportunity to teach virtually in West New York, NJ. Over the years, I’ve taught all levels of high school literature, grades 9–12, and I hold two master’s degrees, one in Special Education and another in Behavior Analysis. In addition to my teaching career, I am proud to be an Emmy-winning journalist, an experience that has enriched my love for communication and storytelling.

I currently live in Miami Lakes with my husband, our two children, a son and a daughter and our golden doodle, Benji, along with our cat, Ash. Family is very important to me, and when I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling and exploring new cultures.

As a virtual teacher, I love the opportunity to connect with students from abroad. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to encourage them in their personal growth. I believe that building relationships, fostering curiosity, and inspiring confidence can have a lasting impact, and I am excited to be part of that journey with my students.
