Ciel Sheldon
Global TeacherCiel Sheldon is excited to be teaching as part of the Dual Diploma Program. An experienced secondary teacher, she has been teaching high school and middle school social studies for over 20 years, both in the classroom and on-line, in the Florida public education system. She also has Reading and ESOL endorsements. Her involvement outside the classroom has included tennis and swimming coaching stints.
Sheldon has voluntarily taken part in several informative professional development opportunities in the last several years in efforts to increase her knowledge in her subject area. She completed a year commitment as part of the national Teach American History grant and finished a course at the Holocaust Institute at the University of Florida. She completed a district book study on building historical literacies and served on several leadership teams for her school district.
A 1998 graduate of Florida State University, Sheldon studied both geography and history while pursuing her Bachelors degree in International Relations. She then continued her education at the
University of Oklahoma, where she graduated with a Masters in Sports Management in 2003.
Sheldon grew up in Jacksonville, FL, and graduated from Stanton College Preparatory School, which has repeatedly been ranked as one of the top five public high schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
