Ashley Gaska

Global Teacher

Hello! My name is Ashley Gaska. I live in Tampa, Florida with my husband, two dogs, and two cats. I work as a Global Teacher in the Dual Diploma Program, and I am so excited to be part of your educational journey! I have been a teacher in Florida since 2013, the same year I earned my bachelor’s degree in secondary English education from the University of South Florida. Later, I returned to USF and earned my master’s degree in reading education in 2022. I also hold certifications in teaching English as a second language, gifted education, and social sciences.

Besides teaching, I also have a passion for painting, drawing, music, reading, writing, and playing video games. I spend most of my free time participating in one of these endeavors. I also love to travel, and I have the goal of visiting every National Park in the United States (there are 63!).

My approach to teaching is to seek student engagement through humor and interactivity, treat students with respect and kindness to promote a safe and supportive class culture, and push my limits to perpetuate my own growth as a professional and bring advanced knowledge and skills to my learners. One of my favorite quotes is from Brene Brown: “As long as we’re creating, we’re cultivating meaning.”
